Wild Qiaomu Shengpu, Wu Liang Mountains, 2008

  • This tea is of David Lee Hoffman's -- The Phoenix Collection.
  • Wild Qiaomu Shengpu Pu-erh from Wu Liang Mountains. Harvest of 2008 pressed into a 30kg basket. This is a good young tea that doesn't need much to wake up. I really love this Pu-erh, it's inexpensive and delivers in all aspects. It is perfect for anyone who enjoys a smokey Pu-erh with a thick floral body and sweet lasting finish. The tea maintains a lot of its traits all the way to the end, you may notice some astringency appearing in the later steeps yet it is still a pleasant cup of tea.
  • Brewing Guide
Using a 4 ounce Gaiwan, I recommend 3 grams of tea, at 205 temperature. Brew for 30 seconds or less, play around with it, it doesn't need to steep long to wake up. Brewed this way, the tea would yield a good 5 rounds.
